TUITION, FEES, AND PAYMENTS
- A monthly tuition of $120 per student covers four thirty-minute lessons per month.
- If there is a fifth week in a month, the fifth lesson can be used as a make-up lesson. If you do not need a make-up lesson, then the fifth lesson will be a free lesson.
- Family discounts are available. If you have two or more students in your immediate family, tuition for each student will be discounted by $10 ($110 monthly tuition for each student). For three or more students, the discount will be $15 ($105 monthly tuition for each student).
- Payments are due by the first lesson of each month. I accept cash, checks, major credit cards, and PayPal. You can set up automatic payments using PayPal and credit cards. If I do not receive payment by the third lesson of the month, no more lessons will be provided until payment is received. There will be a fee of $20 on returned checks.
- Students are responsible for the cost of their books and materials.
ATTENDANCE
- Attendance will be taken at each lesson and logged into the My Music Staff system. Students can access their attendance records and lesson notes via the student and parent portals.
- 24 hours advance notice is requested for all cancellations and schedule changes. If you do not give 24 hour notice for a cancellation or schedule change, you may be asked to pay for the missed lesson. If the cancellation is an excused absence, the fee for that lesson may be waived, or a make-up credit may be given at the discretion of the teacher.
- Make-up credits will be given for Excused Absences at the discretion of the teacher. Make-up credits must be used within 30 days.
- Excused Absences are based on the circumstances of the absence. For example: You have a scheduling conflict and you notify me before the 24 hour deadline, your car breaks down on your way to lessons, someone becomes ill at the last moment, or another emergency arises that is out of your control. These would be excused absences, and Amanda may decide to give you a make-up credit that can be used within 30 days.
- Unexcused Absences are absences due to circumstances within your control and are preventable. For example: You go on a planned vacation and forget to tell me, the student doesn't have a ride, a sporting event/school event conflicts with your lesson time and you do not notify me before the 24 hour deadline, you forget that you have a lesson scheduled etc.. These would be unexcused absences and you would not receive a make-up credit.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Students will bring their books, folders, notebooks, and required sheet music to all lessons.
- The ideal practice routine is to practice everyday for at least 20 - 30 minutes, but students are expected to practice at least three times through the week. Students can log their practice hours, questions, and notes on the My Music Staff student portal or in a notebook.
- Students are expected to complete assignments before they arrive for their lessons. If you have questions about any assignments, please call me and ask questions. I am always happy to help!
- Students are encouraged, but not required to participate in recitals and other performances.
